Enjoy Summer!
Tiny Berry-bugs (harvest mites) have arrived and lead to some very itchy dogs (and some cats too!) The orange-coloured tiny forrage mite, Trombicula Autumnalis is the cause - as seen here between the toes of this black Lab. They live all around us. Lots of coughing dogs at the moment. Vaccination may help but won't cover every type of cough. Also at this time, never leave pets in cars. Never play fetch on a hot sunny day. Pink noses or ears should have factor 30 sunblock every day to avoid skin cancer when older (dogs' pink noses and white cats' ears especially) - and as summer goes on we see more and more ticks and fleas at Parkside - the Vets in Dundee. Best be prepared! Look out for our Price Comparisons at each surgery - lots to save on Drontal wormer at Parkside Vets and cheaper James Wellbeloved pet food too!
