Changing a dressing after a fracture repair |
These nurses have formal Veterinary Nursing qualifications. We are a Registered Veterinary Nursing Training Practice, and we always have Nurses undergoing training. It is a great expense to the pratice, but one which creates great personal fulfillment and gives your pets even greater specialised care. Along with college placements and practical training, over a two year period, a nurse will then sit formal Royal College written and practical exams, to qualify as a V.N.
Nurses prepare pets for surgery and assist Vets during surgery, monitoring vital signs. They constantly look after your pets post-operatively, until they are at a safe stage to be left to sleep. Nurses also assist with radiology, change dressings, remove sutures take blood samples, set up drips and run there own nutrition clinics (mostly for dieting pets, which is free to you). They also take nurse clinics for other procedures - and these save you money! There is also a lot of routine cleaning which has to be done!
