Bladder Stones

This bladder was full of many stones, resulting in much irritation and signs of cystitis... |
This is what we saw on X-ray - looks like a bag full of stones - and it is. The bladder was full of many stones, resulting in much irritation and signs of cystitis (bladder inflamation). We had to operate, opening the bladder, to remove these (a cystotomy) and you can see the contents in the picture opposite - quite a collection! (The pen is there for scale). These stones are analysed to find their composition and changes in diet, sometimes with specialised food, are needed to prevent this recurring.
